Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Development 

Being a student in Ngee Ann Polytechnic allowed me to gain valuable skills and knowledge that can help me in the future when I step out into the working industry 

​

It has provided me with relevant modules like Child Development, Curriculum Planning and Implementation, Effectively Learning Environment for Young Children, Family and Community Partnership and so much more 

​

This has developed me into a resilient individual as I push myself through challenges to work towards my academic goals. This is shown in my academic achievements which I managed to achieve the top 25% of the cohort and consistently receive good grades from my respective modules.

What i did

STAGE MANAGER

SECTION LEADER

  • Plan and organised a Virtual Band Camp, Christmas events and a Virtual Ensemble Concert on YouTube for over 60 members of the Band   

  • Took on the role of a behind the scenes coordinator during events

  • Organised Day plans for each events with my partner 

  • Ensured that information, actions were passed down properly during events

  • Lead the Committee in making sure that everyone was on the right track in line with the schedule 

  • Set-up a proper communication system for the Committee to use 

  • Planning weekly materials for the virtual sections 

  • Organising the section for practices in line with COVID-19 restrictions 

  • Encouraging and guiding the section with the help they need in their playing 

Challenges

  • Having to put away majority of our Physical Events planned due to COVID-19 restrictions

  • Innovating new ideas to engage the Band virtually 

  • Faced the uncertainties of organising Virtual Events 

  • Virtually organising and leading the committee during events as a coordinator 

  • Getting the Section to continue to have interests in playing and improving despite the lack of physical practices 

what i learned
